My Totally Rad Nails

This is probably my favorite manicures in a long time. It was so fun to take pictures of it! It did take a while-about an hour and a half, but it was totally worth it. It even lasted almost a week! The jewels on my right hand fell off after 5 days-which is pretty good ( I am right handed).  But the ones on the left hand stayed on and not even one fell off! Amazing!

I love doing these wacky, every nail different designs-but using the same color scheme. It makes it both uniform and neat yet also wild and crazy! I feel like that is me in a nut shell actually :P

Anyway, enjoy! I sure did!

Ring Around The Rose-y Belt

I actually made this belt about a year ago, but I never listed it. I have no clue why. I made it so it can be worn at different lengths; up high for a dress or low on the hips with jeans. It can also be used as a necklace! I love accessories and I love making them!

If only I could do this all day everyday…that would be swell.

Seaside Dreaming

Now that the weather has decided to grace us with gorgeous heat I decided to prepare to enjoy it by making my first swimsuit! Usually I buy a new suit every year and it ends up being just okay. This year I wanted something I would not be trying to hide in, or covering up with t-shirts and other coverings. I decided to make a one piece, something I haven’t worn since elementary school! That way, everything is covered and under control…

The Wonderful World Of Acrylics

So, I have been thinking a lot about nail design lately and constantly am I getting inspired for new nail designs. I will be sitting at my desk and an idea will just pop into my head so I’ll grab my sketch pad and draw the design on my pre-drawn fingers. Man, I really love nail design. I wish it were my job sometimes. I wish I could just do it outside in the sun all day. Hey, i’d get a nice tan, right?
Anyway, I was thinking about more designs while I was thinking about my time in Japan. Those are some of the most creative people I have ever seen. From their style to their nails. If you haven’t seen Japanese nail art, you should google it right now (and then come back to my blog of course, haha).
I love how intricate and careful their designs are, not to mention how fun! So I was inspired to learn 3D acrylic nail design!
I just love watching videos of this stuff. Here are some of my favorite Japanese style 3D Acrylic nail designs. I can’t wait to get started on my own!

I found this as i was watching a tutorial on youtube, by Ishinail

I love bows and sparkle! This came from http://www.yukiumi.com/cn/

From kawaiinails.com

By the way, I’ll be needing some guinea pigs…..:D

My Easter Dress!

This has been such a fun and challenging project so far. This is actually the first full dress dress I have ever made. Pretty much all of my other clothes have been modified in some way or another. But this dress is my first self-patterned dress. I did get the idea from Mod Cloth, however. I saw this amazing dress online but then looked at the price tag. Ouch. So I thought I would try my hand at making it myself!

So far, so good. I hope to finish it this weekend!

Easter Craftiness

Well, I have been decorating for Easter this whole month, and probably won’t stop until April. Decorating for Easter is so much fun for me because I get to bring in fresh flowers, and pretty pastels. Here are some of my ideas so far. With the help of Marth Stewart Online, I have come up with some very fun interior decorations for this season.

For the candles pictured above, I used Martha’s idea. Go here to make the blown out egg candles. If you can’t find egg cups (which I had a hard time but found some online) be creative and use something that you have. for example, I have a ton of these little tea cannisters from Adagio Teas (http://www.adagio.com/). So, I used them.

For the hanging egg topiary, I came up with this one.

Tools you will need:

5-7 inch styrofoam egg-(you can find these at at place like Michaels, AC Moore, or other craft stores)

1 bunch of very small silk flowers-(also found at craft stores)

Hot glue gun

Silk ribbon(about 2 inches thick)

Craft wire

Steps

1. Pull off all the flowers from the bunch that you bought

2. If the flowers have little plasctic backings, then you can stick them straight into the styrofoam egg. If not, then you will need to glue each flower on. You can overlap the petals, we want to make sure no white shows from the egg.

3. Once the whole egg is covered, take your wire(about 4 inches long. Bend it in half and stick it in the very top of the egg. This is where we will put the ribbon through to hang.

4. Make a bow with a piece of the ribbon and hot glue it to the top of the egg.

5. Hang in a window for everyone to see! Enjoy and have fun!

Spring Nails

It’s officially spring, and the perfect opportunity to dress up your nails with pretty spring flowers! I used a yellow polish and then took my favorite tool for nail art, the toothpick, and made about 4 or 5 dots for each flower. With the pointed tip, I made small indentions in each petal for a more detailed look.IMG_7314

Spring, Spring

Spring is two days away, but the weather has been so great that it seems like it is already here. We broke out the tea cups and enjoyed some great green tea that our good friend sent us from Japan. There is just something about real Japanese green that makes me so happy. I did’t know I was going to miss it that much. It has an almost seaweed-type taste. I know, I have weird taste buds. I have been told many times. In Japan, you drink green tea a lot, and there are different types of green teas all ranging from weaker to stronger. With the stronger ones, you eat a very sweet little dessert to accompany the bitter flavor. It is so good!
